How My Spanish Classes Work

Real examples of my online Spanish classes based on authentic videos, communication goals and practical grammar.

In my Spanish classes, we don’t just study grammar in isolation. We work with real content created by me to develop communication skills, vocabulary and grammar in a natural and meaningful way. Below you can see several examples of how I structure my lessons using videos as a starting point.

Each class is focused on a clear communicative objective (what you will be able to do in Spanish) and several linguistic objectives (grammar and vocabulary), always adapted to your level and needs.

Christmas in Spain (A2 level)

In this lesson, we talk about Christmas traditions in Spain while practicing how to ask questions, compare ideas and talk about habits and frequency. It is a very cultural lesson that helps students understand how Spanish people celebrate Christmas.

Communicative objectives

  • Talking about Christmas and traditions
  • Asking and answering questions
  • Comparing customs and habits
  • Talking about frequency and routines

Linguistic objectives

  • Question words: what, how, when, who, where, why, which
  • Connectors: as in, the same way, also, but, while, however, because, although
  • Frequency expressions: always, often, sometimes, rarely, never, every day, once a week, etc.
  • Verb soler to talk about habits

La Palma – Tourism in Spain (A2 level)

This lesson is focused on travel and tourism. Students learn how to describe places, ask for information politely and talk about experiences using useful grammar for real-life situations.

Communicative objectives

  • Talking about tourism and travel
  • Asking for information and favors politely
  • Using formal language

Linguistic objectives

  • Basic prepositions: a, en, por, para, durante
  • Muy vs. mucho
  • Bien / bueno / mal / malo
  • Nadie / nada / nunca
  • Todavía / ya / aún
  • Formal language: usted / ustedes
  • Polite conditional
  • Querer + infinitive

At the Restaurant (B1–B2 level)

In this class, we work on a very practical situation: ordering food and interacting in a restaurant. The lesson is ideal for intermediate students who want to sound more natural and polite in Spanish.

  • Ordering food in a restaurant
  • Interacting politely with waiters
  • Handling real-life restaurant situations

Linguistic objectives

  • Simple conditional
  • Perfect conditional
  • Bien / buen / mal / malo (advanced use)
  • Todavía / ya / aún (advanced use)
  • Restaurant vocabulary

The Camino de Santiago (B1–B2 level)

This lesson combines culture, travel and language. We talk about the Camino de Santiago while practicing key grammar points that help students express obligation, knowledge and personal experience.

Communicative objectives

  • Talking about the Camino de Santiago
  • Describing experiences and obligations

Linguistic objectives

  • Basic verbal periphrases: tener que, hay que, acabar de
  • Definite and indefinite articles and when not to use them
  • Determinants: algunos, unos, otros
  • Personal pronouns
  • Saber vs. conocer
